FoodFireFriends is a small team of dedicated BBQ enthusiasts who, between us, have logged many thousands of hours grilling, smoking, curing, cold smoking, and cooking over live fire.
Hailing from 3 different countries, we have decades of combined grilling and barbecuing experience between us, cooking a diverse range of dishes on a wide range of equipment and helping and training others how to do so.
Below is a short introduction to each member of our team, with a link to each of their full bios if you’d like to learn more.
Editorial Team
Mark Jenner
Founder, Barbecue and Grilling Expert
Hi!, I smoked his first proper barbecue back in 2005. Since then, through hard work, dedication, and a continuous thirst for knowledge, I have mastered many forms of outdoor cooking and in 2017 I started this site to share my learnings with others.
I own more barbecues than the average person does socks and barbecue multiple times per week. If I’m not at the pit, you can typically find me on the golf course or playing in a local darts league.
Jim Wright
Senior Writer, Barbecue and Grilling Expert
Hi, I’m Jim! I’ve been grilling for over 20 years over charcoal, wood, and gas, my love of barbecue stemming from camping trips as a kid. Now I’m happy to share my experience and discoveries with you.
When I’m not writing about barbecue, I’m usually writing about food anyway, at a food marketing agency: nourish.marketing. Aside from my family and the perfect steak, my passions include travel and all things Disney.
Emma Braby
Writer and Barbecue Lover
Hi! I’m Emma Braby, part of the writing team at FoodFireFriends. I focus on the contemporary BBQ scene, creating delicious smoked recipes and imparting the wisdom and learnings I’ve gathered throughout my years-long BBQ experiences.
I take great pleasure in cooking on my Kamado Joe Classic II and Pro Q charcoal smokers, with a passion for smoked beef dishes.
And nothing brings me more joy than hosting my loved ones on weekends to try out my freshly cooked barbecue recipes.
Marketing and Development
Wendy Jenner
Social Media and Marketing Manager
Hi! I’m Wendy, married to Mark, so whether I liked it or not, BBQ was always going to be a large part of my life. So it’s a good job I love it then!
To help with the business and so I can work from home to be with my children, I decided years ago to study social media marketing and now run our online communities and marketing channels. Do pop over and join in the fun!
Robson Basquill
